Position Overview:
The Senior Electrical Cost Estimator is responsible for generating precise estimates for the electrical aspects of designated projects utilizing ACCUBID software to model the construction workflow and assess the financial implications of design alternatives.

Key Responsibilities:
As a subject matter expert, you will:
1. Utilize Mark III Construction's estimating system, including ACCUBID and all associated M3 software tools, manuals, and documentation.
2. Analyze proposal specifications and drawings thoroughly, leading pre-bid meetings to clarify the scope of work and necessary components of the estimate, ensuring quality control, accuracy, and compliance with cost estimations.
3. Produce comprehensive, accurate, and timely detailed estimates that reflect the electrical system costs, general conditions, overhead, and profit margins associated with projects.
4. Conduct quantity take-offs for electrical materials on both plan/spec and design-build projects.
5. Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes and ensure adherence to specifications.
6. Maintain organized records of bid documents, notes, and assumptions related to project estimates.
7. Execute layouts of electrical systems when documentation is incomplete to ensure comprehensive estimates.
8. Define productivity requirements tailored to each project and adjust estimates accordingly.
9. Develop conceptual budget estimates based on system narratives and sketches.
10. Mentor and lead junior staff members.
11. Design electrical service systems for projects, including pre-construction services.
12. Oversee design from initial concept to approved permit.
13. Perform additional related duties as assigned, including preparing change orders for the operations team as needed.
14. Formulate design requirements for electrical systems on Design/Build projects to facilitate accurate estimates.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven expertise in the estimating process for plan/spec, design assist, and design-build methodologies.
2. Advanced knowledge in structuring estimates and creating models that align with unique project RFP language.
3. Proficient in interpreting architectural, structural, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, and mechanical plans, with familiarity in various electrical systems and terminology.
4. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and emerging computer technologies.
5. Exceptional mathematical skills and proficiency with the Bluebeam software package.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organization and analytical rigor.
7. Effective communication skills for interaction with engineers, vendors, clients, field personnel, sales, and office staff.
8. High level of self-motivation and urgency in completing assignments on time.
9. Commitment to quality workmanship and accountability for professionalism and accuracy.
10. Capacity to work independently or collaboratively across teams and adapt to changing responsibilities.
11. Innovative thinking and a positive representation of the company.

Education and Experience:
1. Minimum of five years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial, industrial, e-commerce, and higher education projects.
2. Specific knowledge and experience with estimating software systems, particularly ACCUBID, is essential.
3. Five years of related mechanical/HVAC estimating experience is preferred.
4. Previous roles as an electrical trainee, apprentice, or journeyman are advantageous.
5. Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and local electrical regulations is required.
6. A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is necessary; a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in an electrical Design/Build Department is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
2. Capability to lift up to 15 pounds.
3. Willingness to attend construction site visits, including climbing ladders and walking on roofs.

Salary Range:
$140,000 to $180,000 DOE
