Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist I to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing developmentally appropriate care to children and families in our hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care to address the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Provide psychological preparation and support to children prior to medical procedures, using evidence-based techniques to minimize stress and anxiety.
  • Facilitate therapeutic play and activities to promote emotional safety, coping skills, and a sense of mastery in children.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for children and families.
  • Document services and progress in patient charts, ensuring accurate and timely communication with healthcare teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as Child Life, Psychology, or Education.
  • Two years of experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist in a hospital setting, with a strong background in trauma-informed care and developmental therapy.
  • Certification as a Child Life Specialist (CCLS) through the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
