Radiology Interventional Technologist

The Radiology Interventional Technologist plays a crucial role in providing technical assistance to physicians in the Surgical and Imaging departments, ensuring the efficient and effective procurement, utilization, and stewardship of technical, physical, and human resources.
Responsibilities- Perform radiological and interventional procedures in a timely manner, documenting required information and communicating with primary physicians and direct care staff.
- Coordinate and assist patient care in collaboration with radiology technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
- Evaluate patient conditions to perform radiological and interventional exams.
- Inform and explain procedures to patients, ensuring their cooperation.
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care, ensuring a safe and comforting environment.
- Consult with staff as necessary to meet patient and family needs.
- Ensure availability and safe utilization of clinical equipment and supplies.
- Possess knowledge of patient growth and development across the lifespan.
- Perform Point of Care procedures according to established policy and procedure, documenting required information and complying with quality control standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency with equipment in the Interventional Suite procedure room, including fluoroscopy, pan tables, and digital acquisition systems.
- Demonstrate understanding of supplies used for specified procedures.
- Demonstrate familiarity with renal, neuro, peripheral, and vascular anatomy.
- Perform circulator duties during procedures, including pulling supplies and altering technique as needed.
- Troubleshoot simple equipment issues and respond to departmental policy guidelines.
- Communicate with radiologists and physicians to coordinate and facilitate interventional schedules and patient care.
- Provide statistical reports within established timeframes.
- Use resources efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Participate in developing other staff and affiliating students.
- Maintain and develop professional competencies.
- Associate Degree in Radiology or equivalent.
- Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an American Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards.
- Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certification with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
- One of the following current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)/Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R), (VI) license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
