Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Caregiver to join our team. As a Caregiver with HCA, you will be responsible for providing personalized care and support to our clients, assisting with daily living activities, and promoting their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients.
- Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
- Transport clients to appointments and errands as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the Friends and Family Home Care team.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required.
- A compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and work independently.
- Reliable transportation and a willingness to commute, if necessary.
Requirements
- Must have a vehicle for commuting to and from work.
- Must have a working phone to reliably communicate with the office.
- Must possess a Social Security number (no under-the-table hires).
- Must have or be willing to complete registration with the California Department of Social Services.
- Must have or be willing to complete a tuberculosis test.
- Must have or be willing to complete an online caregiver training course, which provides a yearly training certificate.
Work Environment
We serve clients across Southern California, and while we strive to match you with clients in your immediate area, there may be a wait to find the right match. If you are open to commuting, you may be able to start work sooner. Please note that if you prefer to work closer to home, placement may take longer.
