Senior Weapons Strike Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Weapons Strike Analyst to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Air Combat and Strike Mission Analysis Group, you will play a critical role in the design, requirements, and evaluation of innovative strike weapons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and apply models and simulations to evaluate strike weapons and aircraft operating in denied environments.
  • Work with a small team to guide the direction of high-profile DoD projects.
  • Engage in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and reward independent initiative.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and apply mission-level tools such as AFSIM, EADSIM, SUPPRESSOR, or JIMM.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Aerospace, Electrical, or other form of Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability performing analysis with mission-level tools.
  • Proficiency in a programming or scripting language such as MATLAB or Python.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in a technical field.
  • Extensive knowledge of strike weapon systems and aircraft.
  • Demonstrated excellence leading mission-level modeling, simulation & analysis.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
