Key Responsibilities:

  1. Foster a welcoming atmosphere for customers by addressing inquiries related to products available in the store.
  2. Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of products offered to effectively respond to customer questions and provide recommendations.
  3. Be visible and actively engage with customers, greeting and assisting them promptly.
  4. Efficiently process customer transactions at the checkout, ensuring accuracy and speed. Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and manage various payment methods, including cash, checks, credit, debit, and loyalty programs, in accordance with company policies.
  5. Adhere to company guidelines regarding cash handling to minimize shortages and overages.
  6. Comply with regulations concerning restricted sale items.
  7. Collaborate with front-end team members to promote a cohesive work environment.
  8. Report any pricing discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  9. Notify management of any product ordering or shipping issues.
  10. Maintain a positive demeanor at all times.
  11. Stay informed about current promotions and seasonal offers.
  12. Follow all food safety protocols and ensure proper temperature controls are maintained.
  13. Participate in safety programs by adhering to safety procedures and reporting any unsafe conditions.
  14. Conduct regular equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
  15. Inform management of any accidents involving customers or employees.
  16. Report any safety hazards or illegal activities.
  17. Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Experience as a courtesy clerk.
  • Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
