Position Overview:
The Assurance Services Manager plays a crucial role in managing engagements for assurance clients. This position acts as a technical resource for engagement teams, ensuring adherence to professional standards and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with partners, team members, and client personnel.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of accounting standards and auditing procedures.
- Plan and execute assurance engagements across various industry sectors in line with RubinBrown's Client Service Standards.
- Identify and communicate accounting and assurance-related issues to team members.
- Recognize opportunities for performance enhancement.
- Maintain direct communication with clients.
- Supervise assigned assurance staff.
- Develop and oversee engagement budgets.
- Review client documentation and work papers for accuracy and compliance with firm policies and professional standards.
- Organize and conduct periodic technical training for the department.
Team Development:
- Inspire and earn respect from subordinates.
- Contribute positively to the firm's recruitment, education, development, and retention initiatives.
- Serve as a mentor and provide timely feedback to team members, supporting the firm's performance management process.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
- CPA designation is required.
- Strong supervisory, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Ability to meet challenging client demands while demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting and assurance services, including practical application of general theory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel required) and familiarity with audit software such as ProSystems or Engagement fx is preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Commitment to professional ethics.
- Ability to contribute to the success of a strategic business unit.
