Position Summary: The Lead IT Infrastructure Strategist plays a vital role within the Information Technology Team at BioLife. This position is responsible for overseeing all critical IT infrastructure components, including networks, security tools, servers, applications/SaaS, mobile device management, disaster recovery, and backup systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the on-premise infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, laptops, desktops, servers, server virtualization, NAS, printers, and security updates; support internet, LANs, WANs, VPNs, and VLAN network segments.
  • Manage a minimal cloud environment, primarily utilizing Microsoft Entra ID and AWS, while streamlining manual processes through tools such as InTune and Okta.
  • Ensure IT systems are efficient and incorporate cutting-edge technology through the implementation of various platform environments while supporting:
    • Compliance and Cybersecurity policies
    • Enhanced system reliability
    • Thorough documentation of environments and support
    • Cost efficiency
  • Lead project planning and deployment for IT and cloud infrastructure initiatives in alignment with the annual operating plan.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.
  • Document network issues and events.
  • Plan and implement upgrades, patches, new applications, and equipment installations.
  • Maintain compliance with SOX regulations for IT programs by contributing to policy and procedural documentation and performing necessary testing (e.g., backups and restores).
  • Assist with all auditing requirements, including SOX, NIST, and other customer requests.
  • Maintain and adhere to disaster recovery, security, backup, and restore plans.
  • Support the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root causes and provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Offer subject matter expertise, advice, and guidance to ensure efficient management of the company infrastructure and successful project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in Windows server setup (Windows Server/Active Directory/Microsoft Entra Hybrid environment).
  • Demonstrated experience with O365 administration and Intune.
  • Familiarity with Okta is preferred.
  • Experience in a public company environment with adherence to SOX and other regulatory requirements is essential.
  • Hands-on experience in network architecture, routing and switching, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and VPNs (Meraki infrastructure).
  • Proficient in server virtualization (VMware).
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for security, management, control, and monitoring of server/network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies, such as Veeam.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in a network/systems administrator role.
