Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Lead to join our team at HMSA. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining application systems, prioritizing and coordinating application support efforts, and ensuring resources are allocated to cover after-hour problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain application systems and ensure they meet the needs of the business.
  • Prioritize and coordinate application support efforts to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Allocate resources to cover after-hour problems and ensure the escalation level is properly managed.
  • Prioritize ongoing preventative maintenance of applications and coordinate the resolution of problems as they occur.
  • Schedule and coordinate changes to the production environment and administer Service Now as required.
  • Communicate with customers on a regular basis regarding the status of their work requests and application systems.
  • May be assigned the role of Team Lead, which involves resource planning and making work assignments.
  • Work with Solution Delivery Managers to determine whether resources with appropriate skills are available to meet customer commitments.
  • Assign tasks to allocated resources on specific assignments and provide monthly projections for ongoing resource allocation needs.
  • Establish service level agreements with customers and participate in implementing a performance measuring, tracking, and reporting system.
  • Monitor IS production to ensure negotiated service levels are met and coordinate resources to meet those levels.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of all documents related to assigned application systems.
  • Lead the identification of system requirements and devise or modify procedures to solve problems.
  • Participate in short- and long-term planning sessions with clients to improve business processes and generally involve using and improving information systems.
  • Make buy vs. build recommendations and provide input into evaluation of system options, risk, cost versus benefits, and impacts on business processes and goals.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection process for application packages within area of responsibility.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members and provide technical guidance or business process expertise.
  • Develop reports and presentations for senior management as needed.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application systems management and technical leadership. They will be able to prioritize and coordinate application support efforts, allocate resources, and ensure the escalation level is properly managed. The candidate will also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work effectively with customers and team members.
