Position Summary:

The Associate Manager of Surgical Services is responsible for guiding the perioperative team, emphasizing safe patient care while efficiently overseeing operational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Excellence

Identifies and addresses actual or potential issues impacting service quality, implementing effective solutions with clear communication.

Engages actively in departmental and hospital-wide committees, ensuring consistent communication with represented groups.

Team Development

Provides coaching and constructive feedback to team members; facilitates individual development plans and evaluates job performance.

Complies with all Human Resource policies and effectively communicates relevant information to staff.

Fosters strong relationships and networks to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Quality Assurance

Upholds standards of care within surgical services and develops processes to measure and ensure ongoing compliance.

Designs, implements, and assesses a continuous surgical services program that guarantees quality patient care aligned with the organization's mission.

Monitors adherence to regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies, ensuring safety for patients and personnel.

Oversees operational excellence within the department, ensuring the delivery of quality services in line with established policies and professional standards.

Responsible for the fiscal oversight of the department, ensuring the prudent use of financial resources.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in Oregon.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in OR/PACU/L&D/CVL/GI.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • ASN required; BSN preferred.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Prior experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions and follow verbal directives; proficient in PC skills.
