Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Implementation: Collaborate with our Food Service leadership and Dietitian to develop and implement menus that are varied, nutritionally balanced, and appetizing.
  • Food Preparation and Service: Cook and prepare food according to approved menus, and direct activities of workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
  • Inventory Management: Take inventory of supplies and equipment, and work with Food Service leadership to ensure that we have the necessary resources to meet our food service needs.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, cost parameters, and appropriate regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with additional education or training in the culinary field preferred. Two or more years' experience in food service roles in preparing food for institutions, such as schools, hospitals, or cafeterias, preferred.
  • Certifications: ServSafe Certification or similar food safety certification, where required by the state or facility.
