Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems, instrumentation systems, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, and fixtures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment according to vendor specifications.
- Inspect and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices, gauges, and other tools of the trade.
- Perform electrically related activities, including installing new or replacement electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Calibrate instrumentation, valves, flow meters, etc., and debug and adjust as needed.
- Program variable frequency drives and tune controllers, valves, actuators, etc.
- Download and restore stored data in PLCs, controllers, eproms, etc., and diagnose and resolve communication circuit problems.
- Complete tasks and repairs common to their licensed specialty.
- Report and document the results of inspections and work performed, enter data into computer programs, and prepare labor and material estimates.
- Operate vehicles and mobile equipment for plant maintenance purposes.
- Train peers and subordinates as requested.
- Ensure work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
Work Environment
- Requires working in outside and inside environments with noise and all temperatures and climatic conditions.
- Must be able to work under adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Must demonstrate a working ability to use computer programs for maintenance management.
- Requires working knowledge of standard practices, common tools, materials, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the trade.
- Requires basic knowledge relating to the maintenance of pumps, blowers, compressors, and other electrically driven equipment.
- Must have the ability to safely operate material handling equipment and apply electrical methods to the maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Requires good reading, math, writing, scientific, and verbal communication skills.
- Requires the ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Requires ability to plan, organize, train, and functionally supervise subordinates.
- Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have an Electrical Journeyman's License; other nationally recognized licensed trades will be considered for the position.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in various positions which require bending (60%), walking (25%), standing (10%), and sitting (5%).
- Must be able to distinguish green indicator lights from red.
- Body movements require working with hands extended above and below head and from body, using hand tools weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds in standing and bending positions and carry while walking distance of 10 feet.
- Ability to work on ladders, catwalks, and supports at heights of 50 feet above the ground.
