Job Description

The Arc Eastern Connecticut is a leading provider of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver training, support, and assistance to participants in areas such as personal care, recreation, daily living skills, social skills, health needs, and behavior management.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and monitoring of individualized support plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications to participants as ordered by physicians.
  • Complete required documentation, including program data, incident reports, daily logs, progress notes, and health records.
  • Ensure participants' health and safety, including prevention of abuse, CPR, and evacuation procedures.
  • Provide transportation to recreational and community activities.
  • Prepare participants' meals following published menus.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to mentor and assist participants in all areas of life skills, including recreation, independence, communication, and health.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer aptitude and ability to speak/write in English.
