Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Real Time Grid Engineer to join our team in Portland, Oregon. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of our transmission and distribution systems.

About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for providing technical support in the identification of solutions for complex and critical business/real-time operational problems. You will conduct engineering technical analysis, investigation, and applicable deliverables to mitigate wildfire risk, increase system reliability, and improve asset performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex engineering research, technical analysis, investigation, and applicable deliverables to mitigate wildfire risk, increase system reliability, and improve asset performance in multiple areas of specialized expertise.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance (mentor) to less experienced engineers and operational teams that support wildfire risk mitigation, increased system reliability, and improved asset performance.
  • Cross-functional teamwork skills involving the ability to work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, present alternatives, recommendations, and communicate with company leaders.
  • Determine methods and techniques to obtaining results that mitigate wildfire risk, improve system reliability, and enhance asset performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of utility experience in transmission, substation, or distribution operations or a combination thereof.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills including the ability to work with a cross-functional team, maintain project/activity timelines, and deliver on commitments.
  • Expert knowledge and application of principles in the area of engineering specialty(s).
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $76,200 - $156,500 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a comprehensive compensation package, we provide a range of benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
