Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Inpatient Endocrine team at the Main Hospital.

The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at CHOP stands as one of the foremost pediatric endocrinology and diabetes centers nationwide, providing exceptional care to patients both locally and globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage complex acute, critical, and chronic conditions in pediatric patients, utilizing relevant data to assess for physiological instability and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at stabilizing critical health issues, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of the risks and benefits associated with various therapeutic interventions.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust care plans based on patient responses, focusing on optimizing health outcomes.
  • Incorporate preventive health measures into care strategies for patients with complex health needs.
  • Facilitate seamless transitions for patients across different healthcare settings.
  • Serve as a vital educational resource for patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing consultation and support as needed.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research and education, while also contributing to the professional growth of colleagues and students.
  • Promote a culture of safety by addressing safety concerns and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing is required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective use of electronic medical records and clinical information systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Ability to critically evaluate clinical information and integrate it into practice.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement tools and data collection methods.

Licensure and Certification Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
  • Certification as a Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the respective state.
  • Prescriptive authority as required by state regulations.
  • Specialty certification relevant to the practice area is required.
