Job Summary

This is a senior-level management position responsible for leading the Systems Engineering team in the Mission Systems Ejection & Propulsion department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering management and experience in leading teams in a matrix organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct management of engineering team including hiring, career development, and mentoring
  • Create strategies around customer requirement definition to support platform development
  • Accountable for meeting program requirements including cost and schedule
  • Interface with program management and program leads to assure technical goals are achieved
  • Oversight of all procedures and processes being adhered to by the team
  • Implement best practices and improve efficiency
  • Responsible for capturing lessons learned and implementing corrective actions
  • Support Pursuit & Order capture activities including bidding & estimation efforts for new programs
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in Managing an engineering team and/or System leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws / regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong experience with Engineering management in a matrix organization
  • Significant experience as Aerospace Systems and/or Propulsion Systems
  • Experience with development for DoD customers
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience with Agile Program Management
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and champions MSBE best practices
