Position Overview:

In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare documentation, we are seeking a dedicated Medical Records Retrieval Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient acquisition of medical records from various healthcare facilities.

The primary responsibility of the Medical Records Retrieval Coordinator involves establishing communication with healthcare providers to obtain necessary medical documentation. Each interaction is meticulously recorded in our internal systems to maintain comprehensive records.

This is a full-time role that requires a commitment to working on-site. The standard working hours are from Monday to Friday, with potential overtime based on operational demands.

The compensation for this position ranges from $20 to $22 per hour, contingent upon experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and maintain communication with record custodians based on the urgency of requests.
  • Conduct consistent follow-ups through phone calls and other communication methods to ensure timely completion of record requests.
  • Enhance communication efforts as deadlines approach, sending appropriate notifications to expedite record retrieval.
  • Document all interactions and progress in our internal system to ensure thorough tracking of each request.
  • Organize and prioritize work orders to manage tasks effectively, focusing on due dates.
  • Perform quality checks on incoming records to verify accuracy against requests.
  • Accurately schedule field assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; some college education is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in customer service, call centers, or within medical, legal, or insurance environments is advantageous.
  • Exceptional telephone communication skills are essential.
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
