Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Director for our Hospice and Palliative Care team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the medical component of direct patient care through telehealth visits and regularly scheduled in-person visits.

About the Role

The Hospice and Palliative Physician will provide consultations at the request of community physicians or Bluegrass Care Navigators' Nurse Practitioners, make medically necessary visits and face-to-face recertification visits as needed. This position will also participate in rotating shifts to cover afterhours, weekend call and weekend visits through in-person and/or telehealth and serving as triage physician during the week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accept patients as the hospice attending physician
  • Provide consultations and medically necessary visits
  • Participate in care planning meetings and perform other necessary administrative functions
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current license to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky, including a DEA license
  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Oncology, or appropriate medical society
  • A fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine or a minimum of two years of post-residency medical experience required
  • Two years of hospice or palliative experience preferred
