About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist I to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our neurodiagnostics team, you will be responsible for performing and maintaining competency in various electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures, including portable inpatient EEGs, ambulatory EEG monitoring, and EEG monitoring during intracarotid Sodium Amytal procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and maintain competency in EEG procedures, including electrode application, calibration, and adjustment.
  • Prepare patients for exams and perform procedures, gathering comprehensive patient histories and explaining test procedures to patients and family members.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot equipment problems, repairing or reporting to supervisors as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties, including scheduling procedures, archiving studies, and charge entry.
  • Transport patients and perform various positioning duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • High School Graduate.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in neurodiagnostics or similar direct patient care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient service skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
