We are seeking a highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technician I to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our neurodiagnostics team, you will be responsible for performing and maintaining competency in electroencephalograms, portable inpatient EEGs, ambulatory EEG monitoring, and other neurodiagnostic procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and maintain competency in electroencephalograms, portable inpatient EEGs, ambulatory EEG monitoring, and other neurodiagnostic procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams and perform procedures according to laboratory standards.
- Gather comprehensive patient histories and information from patients, records, and family members.
- Explain test procedures to patients and family members.
- Recognize and troubleshoot equipment problems, and repair or report to supervisor as needed.
- Perform clerical duties, including scheduling procedures, archiving studies, and charge entry.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- High School Graduate.
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in neurodiagnostics or similar direct patient care.
- Excellent interpersonal and patient service skills.
- Intermediate computer skills.
The work environment may contain potential for exposure to blood and body fluids or other unpleasant fumes or hazards. Must have ability to work in that type of environment and wear protective clothing as necessary.
Exposed to normal office environment.
