We are seeking a highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist I to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. This role will be responsible for performing and maintaining competency in various neurodiagnostic procedures, including electroencephalograms, ambulatory EEG monitoring, and epilepsy monitoring units.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and maintain competency in electroencephalograms, portable inpatient EEG's, ambulatory EEG monitoring, EEG monitoring during intracarotid Sodium Amytal procedures, Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMUs), and Evoke Potentials.
- Prepare patients for exams and perform procedures, including gathering comprehensive patient histories and explaining test procedures to patients and family members.
- Recognize patient or environmental artifacts, document, eliminate, or take proper measures to monitor them.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and repair or report to supervisor immediately.
- Perform clerical duties, including scheduling procedures, archiving studies, and charge entry.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- High School Graduate.
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in neurodiagnostics or similar direct patient care.
- Excellent interpersonal and patient service skills.
- Intermediate computer skills.
The work environment may contain potential for exposure to blood and body fluids or other unpleasant fumes or hazards. Must have ability to work in that type of environment and wear protective clothing as necessary.
Exposed to normal office environment.
