About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Sugar Hill Animal Hospital. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinary team in delivering top-notch medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, exams, and treatments.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including handling, restraining, and administering medications.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear and concise information about their pets' health and treatment options.
  • Participate in daily cleaning and maintenance of the hospital, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, and provide support during medical emergencies.
Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other staff members.
  • Ability to lift and move animals safely, and to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
