Job Title: Hydraulic/Water Resources Engineer

RIE Consultants is a leading water resources engineering firm specializing in hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality services. We provide comprehensive engineering and modeling solutions for natural and built environments, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain delineation, and hydraulic structure design.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and calibrate hydrologic and hydraulic numerical models to simulate open channel and closed conduit flow, sediment, and water quality parameters.
  • Design hydraulic structures such as bridges, culverts, levees, and fish passages, and perform hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling in support of stormwater and CSO facilities planning and design.
  • Typical assignments include review of existing information, numerical hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water resources engineering design, data analysis, site visits, and preparation of engineering reports or memoranda.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • BS or higher degree in civil and environmental engineering or a related field; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • Specialized experience or training in hydrologic analysis, hydraulic design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, sediment transport, geomorphology, and stream restoration.
  • Strong technical writing background and abilities to prepare written reports and communicate effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to solve problems and work both independently and collaboratively on project teams.
