The primary responsibility of the mechanical engineer involves conducting research and evaluating the design, functionality, and upkeep of mechanical products, systems, and processes. A qualified mechanical engineer is proficient in creating engineering drawings and possesses the ability to interpret blueprints effectively.

  • Conduct research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical devices, including tools, engines, and machinery.
  • Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess the feasibility of project timelines and costs.
  • Examine equipment malfunctions and challenges to diagnose operational issues and provide recommendations to the maintenance team.
  • Collaborate with drafters to enhance the structural design of products using various tools, equipment, or software.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Technology, accompanied by 2-4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; alternatively, 8 years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.

Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Proficiency in Teamcenter, Creo, engineering design and development, management of engineering changes, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with Caterpillar engineering tools and systems.
  • Experience in system or component-level design within the construction or mining equipment sectors.
