The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for all Pilots, Flight Engineers, and Mechanics regarding maintenance or equipment requirements for aircraft operations. This role encompasses various responsibilities, including delivering comprehensive support to aircraft as necessary. The Supervisor operates under the guidance of the Maintenance Control Manager, who oversees all activities related to maintenance control. In instances where the Supervisor is unavailable, the Maintenance Control Manager or a designated representative will assume these duties. Should the need arise, the Director of Maintenance may outsource this function to another certified air carrier, provided that personnel from the other carrier are well-versed in the necessary procedures and manuals. It is essential to note that the Manager retains ultimate responsibility for maintenance control operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain consistent communication with all outstation maintenance facilities, ensuring prompt reporting of total aircraft times and relevant information concerning inspections, time changes, and work requests.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance personnel and contracted agencies.
  • Authorize and log daily maintenance items, ensuring that parts and technical assistance are readily available for timely repairs.
  • Conduct debriefings with layover flight crews or on-site mechanics at the end of each operational day.
  • Coordinate with Flight Operations regarding the movement of aircraft, focusing on maintenance scheduling and required downtimes.
  • Approve minor maintenance tasks at non-maintenance stations.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Control Manager to report on daily maintenance activities via various communication methods.
  • Schedule necessary maintenance tasks to meet company standards, ensuring that all required parts arrive on time.
  • Track compliance with approved Advisory Notices within specified timeframes.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for inspections or engine changes as required.
  • Make final decisions regarding maintenance actions to facilitate repairs, subject to override by the Director of Maintenance or Chief Inspector.
  • During absences, the Manager of Maintenance Control will delegate responsibilities to a qualified alternate.
  • Collect and analyze data in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance orders with outstation and maintenance base personnel.
  • Verify that all maintenance logs and associated documentation are accurate and complete before the next flight.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of any deferrals issued during the previous shift.
  • Communicate with Operations and Quality Departments as necessary to update aircraft maintenance statuses.
  • Return original paperwork and completed work packages to the appropriate department upon completion.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license.
