Job Title: Manager on Duty

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as the Manager on Duty. This role is responsible for overseeing branch operations and administration, ensuring staff and members are in compliance with YMCA policies and practices, and responding to emergencies and member incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the facility is open and closed according to proper procedures.
  • Conduct regular facility walk-throughs to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are being maintained.
  • Support the Membership desk and Welcome Center, providing excellent customer service to members.
  • Build relationships with members, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Ability to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Positive attitude and previous experience working with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated maturity, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience, especially in a supervisory and/or leadership capacity (preferred).
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding certification (must possess or obtain prior to hire and maintain).
  • Ability and willingness to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training and other required training.
