Medical Laboratory Technician Position

Job Summary:
Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-bed acute care community hospital, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join its team. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, and serology.
Responsibilities:
- Perform moderately complex and complex laboratory tests as defined by CLIA.
- Apply professional principles, theories, techniques, and quality controls of laboratory science.
- Follow hospital policies and procedures and document reviews.
- Ensure daily QC is acceptable before releasing patient results.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and reagents.
- Participate in laboratory in-service and competency assessment programs.
- Help train and orient new team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months MLT experience in at least 2 sections of an accredited hospital clinical laboratory.
- Current CA Medical Laboratory Technician license.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
