Job Summary

Cathcart Rail is seeking a highly skilled Conductor/Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of locomotives and railcars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate locomotives and railcars in compliance with FRA, AAR, and company rules and regulations.
  • Monitor track conditions and inspect railcars to ensure compliance with Federal Railroad Administration regulations.
  • Provide information on train stops, reports, and explain accidents and unscheduled stops and delays.
  • Assemble and switch trains per work orders, and service customers with zero errors.
  • Conduct the movement of rail cars and train movements, and signal crew members for movement of the engine or train.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • FRA 240 and 242 Certification.
  • Two years of work experience; three years of relevant experience preferred.
Working Conditions

The location of work performed (out-of-doors) and the tools and material used in the surrounding workplace expose the incumbent to weather, noise, vibrations, dust, and pollen. The job requires the individual to follow standard safety procedures, be alert, and take necessary precautions to avoid injuries or health problems.
