Position Overview:

The Junior Wealth Management Advisor role at Kornitzer Capital Management is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to join a team of investment management experts. This position serves as a developmental role, partnering with a seasoned Wealth Manager to eventually manage a complete client portfolio.

Our firm empowers Wealth Managers to take an active role in portfolio development, company evaluations, and continuous portfolio oversight to meet client aspirations. By engaging closely with clients, you will gain insights into their financial objectives and create diversified investment portfolios tailored to their needs. Working alongside experienced Wealth Managers and specialists, you will analyze market dynamics, identify investment prospects, and contribute to comprehensive investment strategies aimed at multi-generational wealth preservation. Collaborating with our wealth advisors will also involve integrating estate planning and tax considerations for holistic financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in building and nurturing client relationships by understanding their financial goals, offering customized investment guidance, and providing exceptional service.
  • Support the portfolio development process, including asset allocation, security selection, and risk management to achieve client-specific objectives.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify high-quality investment opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Wealth Manager on ongoing portfolio assessments and adjustments to ensure alignment with clients' financial aspirations and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with wealth advisors to align investment strategies with comprehensive financial plans, including estate planning and tax considerations.
  • Monitor market trends and economic developments in partnership with the Wealth Manager to proactively adjust portfolios and seize new opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed investment reports and presentations for clients, clearly articulating the rationale behind investment decisions and portfolio performance.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and uphold the highest standards of fiduciary responsibility.
  • Contribute as part of a collaborative team to support the overall objectives of the firm and enhance a dynamic, innovative work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required – preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial planning, investment analysis, research, trading, or a similar environment.
  • CFA designation or near completion is required.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and investment vehicles (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives, alternatives).
  • Knowledge of macroeconomic indicators and their influence on financial markets.
  • Familiarity with various investment strategies (e.g., value, growth, income, quantitative) and portfolio management techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work collaboratively within a wealth management team.
