We are currently offering a full-time position for a Medical Records Management Associate. This role involves a range of responsibilities related to the collection, analysis, and organization of patient care documentation within our claims processing system.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Acquiring medical records and relevant documentation, actively working to obtain incomplete information for accurate claims submission through electronic medical record (EMR) access, technology support tools, and traditional record requests.
- Reviewing documents to determine their appropriate placement within both paper and electronic records.
- Utilizing critical thinking skills within established protocols to fulfill essential job functions, including medical record retrieval, document categorization, and problem resolution.
- Verifying patient identification by examining medical records.
- Conducting pre-scan validation of new claims and accompanying documentation to ensure precision, prompt processing, and revenue acknowledgment.
- Performing administrative duties to maintain efficient office operations, which includes handling paper claim documentation, scanning claims, managing mail and shipping, faxing, copying, filing, purchasing office supplies, and drafting general correspondence.
- Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient medical records and personal health information.
- Meeting daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets related to claim processing, revenue generation, and achievement of scorecard goals.
- Exemplifying the company’s culture of accountability and demonstrating our core values.
- Assisting with various medical billing and collection tasks as needed.
- Welcoming and assisting patients, vendors, and visitors in a prompt, efficient, and professional manner.
- Managing office supplies and equipment by anticipating needs.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in related medical records management duties is preferred.
- Prior experience with medical records, including EMR navigation and a basic understanding of billing processes, CPT, and ICD-10 coding is advantageous.
- Familiarity with standard medical terminology, basic human anatomy, orthopedic diagnoses, and the structure and content of medical records.
- Knowledge of EMR systems and the ability to locate various data points and clinical information.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including web browsing, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the capability to learn new software and systems.
- Experience in operating office machinery, telecommunications, and web-based tools.
- The ability to perform routine and basic maintenance on scanning equipment is preferred.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $19.00 and $26.00 per hour, with potential bonus eligibility.
This range represents the minimum and maximum target salary for new hires across all locations. Actual compensation will depend on various factors unique to each candidate, including geographical location, work experience, skill set, relevant training, and business needs. The base pay range is subject to change and may be adjusted in the future.
