About the Position

The County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department is seeking highly skilled Physical or Occupational Therapists to join their team as Physical Therapist I/II or Occupational Therapist I/II. As a member of the California Children's Services team, you will play a vital role in providing medical care, equipment, and rehabilitation services to children and young adults with eligible medical conditions.

Job Summary

Under medical direction, you will organize, conduct, and supervise physical or occupational therapy treatments and programs in a clinic setting. You may assist in the supervision and coordination of a staff of physical and occupational therapists at one or more California Children's Services (CCS) Medical Therapy Units (MTU). Your expertise will be essential in helping patients achieve their full potential and improving their quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • Organize, conduct, and supervise physical or occupational therapy treatments and programs in a clinic setting.
  • Assist in the supervision and coordination of a staff of physical and occupational therapists at one or more CCS MTU locations.
  • Work with patients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their families on proper techniques and strategies for managing their conditions.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a valid California license as a Registered Physical Therapist or a valid California license as an Occupational Therapist. Additionally, you must have three years of post-licensure therapy experience, or a Master's Degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
