Role Summary:
This position is a remarkable opportunity for a Crisis Response Specialist to engage in impactful work within our vibrant department. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering crisis services, which encompass responding to urgent calls, executing crisis interventions for ongoing clients, managing cases, and coordinating care, while also collaborating with first responders. The services provided will align with the individual’s training, experience, and certification.

Work Schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts per week (Evening shifts available).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct crisis services in various settings, including in-home, in-office, in-school, and community environments. Services may include crisis intervention, de-escalation, transportation, community stabilization, client support, parenting training, and behavior management assistance.
  • Ensure the quality of service delivery, including clinical care and all necessary documentation, while maintaining client records in accordance with agency policies.
  • Provide comprehensive support to clients and facilitate communication with other departments to ensure continuity of care, developing effective relationships with state and community behavioral health organizations.
  • Adhere to the agency's standards for service delivery and assist with quality management and utilization review as required.
  • Perform duties safely and collaboratively, supporting team members and contributing to a cohesive work environment.
  • Oversee the daily operation of department vehicles, reporting any incidents of damage or theft promptly.
  • Handle potentially volatile situations professionally and effectively, regardless of the circumstances.

Additional Duties:

  • This role includes a pay differential due to the unique responsibilities and high-risk nature of the position.
  • Flexibility in shift location may be required to meet departmental needs.
  • Utilize downtime for special projects that benefit the Crisis department or other agency areas.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and training sessions, which may occur outside of regular shifts, including evening and night hours.
  • Be prepared to work beyond scheduled shifts if necessary to address crisis situations or complete required paperwork.
  • May need to use personal transportation if agency vehicles are unavailable, but will not transport clients in personal vehicles.
  • Provide guidance to new staff or interns regarding intervention, documentation, and process flow.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field, along with at least one year of behavioral health experience or qualifications meeting BHT level requirements.
  • Preferred experience in Crisis Services, Outpatient Services, or Community Outreach, especially in sub-acute or urgent psychiatric settings.
  • Ability to extend work shifts as needed to complete crisis-related tasks.
  • Proven capacity to remain composed in stressful situations and work effectively within a team.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred, with additional pay for bilingual skills.
  • A valid Arizona Driver's License with no major infractions in the past 39 months is required.
  • Fingerprint clearance card or eligibility to obtain one is necessary.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.

  • Maintain professional conduct in line with ethical practices and agency policies.
  • Foster positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • For driving on agency business, a valid Arizona driver license and appropriate liability insurance are required.
  • All employees must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
