Transformative Work in Economic Justice

The NAACP Legal Defense Fund, a pioneering civil and human rights organization, seeks an Economic Justice Fellow to drive impactful litigation and advocacy efforts.

We are committed to achieving racial justice, equality, and an inclusive society through our programs in criminal justice, economic justice, education, and political participation. Our work ensures the fundamental and basic human rights of all people, including quality education, economic opportunity, the right to vote, and access to a fair and just judicial system.

This two-year position will focus on developing and implementing strategic plans for economic justice using litigation, public education, research, legislation, and policy advocacy. The ideal candidate will possess a J.D. degree, 1-3 years of litigation experience, and admission to the Bars of New York, Georgia, or the District of Columbia. A demonstrated commitment to racial justice and civil rights is essential.

A key responsibility of this role will be to collaborate with other departments, engage in rapid response to new legal developments, and develop relationships with community partners, coalition members, and advocates. Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to analyze complex issues and articulate them to various audiences.

We offer a competitive salary range of $81,500 - $112,000, depending on location. This is a hybrid work environment with at least two days per week spent in the office location assigned.
