Project Manager Job Summary

As a Project Manager at The Jamar Company, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities throughout the project lifecycle for uncomplicated, straightforward projects. This includes oversight of quality control and safety, communication with internal and external stakeholders, driving efficiency, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews and determines project goals and timelines for each awarded project, defining objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing levels, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manages project startup, including securing building permits and other requirements.
  • Assists with budgets, estimates, construction schedules, progress, and monthly reports.
  • Supports PM II with financial analysis and reporting of projects (WIPs) on a weekly basis.
  • Attends project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as required, takes appropriate notes to document discussions, and copies supervisor if requested.
  • Conducts cost-benefit analysis, risk analysis, and ROI calculations to determine project feasibility. Reports findings as requested.
  • Conducts/supports site meetings, RFI's, invoices, change orders, and control document process.
  • Tracks project costs to ensure within budget; reports variance to PM in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the preparation and finalization of contractor/trade contracts, ensuring all issues are resolved and dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including site superintendents, sub-trades, designers, estimators, and GC's.
  • Identifies any conflicts within project teams and seeks PM support for contingency planning.
  • Ensures company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are always adhered to, including ensuring that safe practices are being followed during site visits.
  • Maintains relationships with customers and regulatory counterparts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree and a minimum of two years of construction experience or six years of progressively responsible experience in commercial construction.
  • Experience in mechanical plumbing/HVAC preferred.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to the discipline; knowledge of system prefabrication and installation is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam/Adobe Pro, estimating software, Procore/Primavera, or other Project Management software, file sharing systems; typing skills necessary.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and interface/communicate effectively with others.
  • Valid state driver's license and able to travel as needed for project and department support.
