Senior Bookkeeper Job Description

Gauzy, a world-leading material science company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join its financial department. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting employees, customers, and third-party vendors in receiving invoices, payments, and tracking receipts.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, including GAAP laws and regulations. Experience with QuickBooks and payroll software/HRIS is highly desirable. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills are also essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts payable, including purchase orders, item/goods receipts, invoices, and payments
  • Process accounts receivable, including invoicing customers, collecting and recording receipts
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliation, as well as period close reconciliations, accruals, and revenue cutoff journal entries
  • Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems, including tracking employee attendance and administering company benefits
  • Prepare and file payroll tax and quarterly tax reports
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, with a preference for QuickBooks experience
  • Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, including GAAP laws and regulations
  • Familiarity with payroll software/HRIS and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
