Position Title: Postal Services Associate

Employment Type: Full Time, Regular (37.5 hours per week)

Work Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Compensation: $19.97 per hour

Role Responsibilities:

As a Postal Services Associate, you will be tasked with the collection and delivery of mail, packages, and specimens across various locations. This role involves significant walking throughout your shift.

You will interact with healthcare professionals and patients within a hospital environment.

Key Duties Include:

  • Delivering mail, packages, and specimens to designated areas on campus, requiring walking.
  • Safeguarding confidential materials and handling biohazardous materials with care.
  • Prioritizing tasks based on processing schedules and client needs to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conducting verification tasks to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Operating mail processing equipment and escalating issues to supervisors as necessary.
  • Utilizing peripheral equipment as part of data entry operations.
  • Complying with security and privacy protocols to protect sensitive information.
  • Executing additional tasks as assigned by supervisors, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

1-3 years of experience in roles such as Mail Carrier, Clerk, or office support is preferred.

Physical Demands:

This position typically requires a 40-hour work week, which may include on-call duties, evenings, and weekends.

Ability to work at a computer for extended periods is necessary.

Must be capable of walking for long durations, standing, reaching, sitting, talking, and hearing as required by job responsibilities.

Work may occur in various settings, including office environments, computer rooms, production areas, warehouses, and shipping/receiving zones, with occasional exposure to elements such as dust and ink.

Engagement in repetitive motions, including twisting, bending, climbing, and lifting, with the ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Experience:

Previous roles may include Mail Clerical Assistant, Mail Handler, Document Sorter, etc.
