Senior Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Technical Architect

We are in search of an experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Technical Architect to take on a pivotal role within our organization. This position will serve as the chief technical expert responsible for steering the integration of our offices and their applications into the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The Technical Architect will manage all technical facets of the migration and integration process to OCI, working in close collaboration with various stakeholders to provide expert insights on architecture and best practices, ensuring a smooth integration and optimization of cloud services.

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a Public Trust. This is a hybrid position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Act as the primary technical authority for OCI, making informed decisions regarding architecture, design, and implementation.
    • Provide strategic direction and technical insights for OCI-related projects and initiatives.
    • Guide and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing technical environment.
  • Architecture Design:
    • Create scalable, secure, and cost-efficient OCI solutions that align with business and technical needs.
    • Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, ensuring they meet best practices and organizational objectives.
    • Assess and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to optimize OCI performance.
  • Migration Strategy:
    • Formulate comprehensive migration strategies for transitioning applications and data to OCI.
    • Lead the execution of migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business activities.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address potential risks and challenges during the migration process.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Engage closely with various internal teams, including IT, security, and business units, to gather requirements and define project scopes.
    • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ensure alignment between OCI initiatives and overarching business goals.
  • Best Practices:
    • Establish and uphold best practices for cloud infrastructure, focusing on security, compliance, and performance optimization.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in all OCI implementations.
    • Continuously evaluate and enhance security measures to safeguard data and applications in the cloud.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Lead efforts to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to OCI.
    • Provide expert-level support to resolve operational challenges and maintain system reliability.
    • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Documentation:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural designs, processes, and procedures.
    • Prepare regular reports on OCI performance, project progress, and key metrics.
    • Ensure documentation is current and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Training and Mentorship:
    • Deliver training and mentorship to junior team members and other stakeholders on OCI-related topics.
    • Organize workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote understanding and adoption of OCI best practices.
    • Stay informed about the latest OCI technologies and trends, continuously seeking opportunities for professional growth.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement enhancements to the cloud infrastructure, focusing on performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Encourage innovation by exploring new OCI features and capabilities.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the technical team.
  • Vendor and Partner Management:
    • Manage relationships with Oracle and other third-party vendors and partners.
    • Coordinate with external consultants and service providers to support OCI initiatives.
    • Evaluate and negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT, with a minimum of 8 years in cloud architecture and OCI.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cloud migration projects and designing cloud solutions.
  • Relevant Oracle Cloud certifications such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate/Professional.
  • In-depth understanding of OCI services and architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Compensation:

$180,000 - $210,000 annual salary

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid position combining remote work and on-site responsibilities.
