Compensation:
$20.00 per hour


Core Responsibilities - Supervise designated streets, parking lots, garages, and other public spaces to ensure adherence to parking regulations.

Work schedule is Saturday only, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

We are looking for a dependable self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously, occasionally engaging with the public

This role involves parking enforcement in and around the Beaverton Central Parking Garage

Previous experience in customer service is essential

Availability for on-call weekday shifts is highly preferred

A clean driving record is required to pass the MVR check

Key Duties:
Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to directions, events, building locations, and parking regulations.
Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance using a computerized handheld device or manual tickets. Impound, boot, or relocate vehicles as instructed.

This role necessitates the ability to work independently, requiring sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with the public.

Assist maintenance personnel with tasks related to parking equipment and facility upkeep.

This includes but is not limited to:

inspecting and evaluating lots for maintenance needs, painting, cleaning and repairing parking meters and pay-and-display machines, and installing signs and posts.

Assist in the collection and safeguarding of all funds received through parking meters, multi-space machines, pay-on-foot technology, and other revenue collection methods.

Support event staff with parking-related activities during events.

This includes but is not limited to:
setting up for events, managing traffic, processing payments for parking, and controlling lot usage.
Assist office staff with tasks related to permit sales during peak seasons, including data entry, organizing mailings, and providing frontline customer service.
Other related responsibilities as assigned.

  • Please note that Parking Compliance Officers are not sworn law enforcement officers and do not possess arresting authority.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates selected for parking compliance officer roles must possess specific traits and abilities that enable them to meet performance expectations.

Key competencies include exercising sound independent judgment and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Additional Skills:
Familiarity with the geography of the enforcement area
Understanding of safety precautions and hazards
Ability to operate a handheld computer
Capability to drive a motorized vehicle or bicycle
Ability to comprehend and apply parking regulations
Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with others
Ability to walk for extended periods
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire

Work Availability:
Specific shift requirements may vary based on the hiring needs of the location. If applicable, availability for 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be necessary.

License Requirement:

The individual must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license with a current address and an acceptable driving record.

Physical Demands and Work Environment


While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, and communicate effectively.

Employees are frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including snow and extreme heat.

Employees work in and around potentially hazardous traffic situations and must prioritize safety at all times.
