We are seeking a highly skilled Shipboard Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Tidewater Staffing.

About the Role

This is a critical position that requires a strong background in quality assurance, with expertise in inspection and testing procedures. As a Shipboard Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all ship repair and construction processes meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
  • Develop and implement quality control plans to minimize defects and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of inspections and testing results
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or quality assurance
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on shipbuilding and repair
  • Certification as a Non-Destructive Test Inspector Level II (VT, PT, MT, and UT)
  • Knowledge of ship construction and repair procedures, including welding, structural, machinery, electrical piping, ventilation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work at heights, enter tanks, voids, and cofferdams, and climb vertical ladders. You must also be able to work around moving machinery and use various measuring instruments.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
