POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Risk Management Specialist to oversee and implement comprehensive risk management strategies, policies, and procedures. This role will involve identifying potential risks and coverage requirements while collaborating closely with senior leadership and external partners to minimize exposure and ensure operational continuity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Insurance Management:
  • Oversee the organization’s insurance programs, including the assessment of insurance needs, coordination of policy placements, and management of claims. Review contracts to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Risk and Crisis Management:
  • Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies and action plans. This includes creating policies and providing training to staff on effective risk management practices.
  • Establish crisis management protocols to respond to unforeseen events, ensuring effective communication and leadership during such incidents.
  • Foster a robust risk management culture through ongoing training and awareness initiatives.
Compliance Oversight:
  • Ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations, including conducting audits and monitoring compliance activities.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Provide regular updates to senior management regarding the organization’s risk profile and mitigation efforts, conducting data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of risk management strategies and recommend enhancements based on industry best practices.
Communication:
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of risks and management strategies.
Leadership:
  • Lead a team of risk management professionals, providing mentorship and overseeing departmental operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, ideally in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong grasp of risk management principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and industry standards.
  • Professional certifications in risk management are advantageous.
  • Experience in property management is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
