About the Role

Bristol Bay Shared Services is seeking a skilled Fuels Superintendent to oversee and ensure the quality of our Military Fuels System construction projects. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site leadership and management for fuel system repair projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and maintain project schedules, focusing on critical path activities.
  • Conduct daily oversight of construction activities, managing both in-house teams and subcontractors to meet project timelines and budgets.
  • Review contract documents for design inconsistencies and code compliance, addressing any issues with the Project Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of Requests for Information (RFIs) to resolve site-related challenges promptly.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with subcontractors to discuss project progress and coordinate efforts.
  • Monitor and evaluate Subcontractor Daily Reports to track work completed and materials used.
  • Engage with Project Managers, Site Quality Control Managers, Safety Officers, and Inspectors to uphold safety and security standards on-site.
  • Identify potential disputes and claims related to project design and construction, working towards acceptable resolutions.
  • Implement the USACE 3-Phase QC inspection process to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Oversee repairs to fuel systems, including tanks, pipelines, valves, and related infrastructure.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Fuels System repair projects or API 653 Tank Repairs.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification is required.
  • Experience in refinery or chemical plant operations is preferred.
  • Military or commercial fuels background with at least 5 years in aviation Fuel System Maintenance and Operations.
  • At least three years of experience as a Site Superintendent on Department of Defense/Military POL facilities.
  • Certification in USACE Construction Quality Control Management and 3-Phase QC inspection methods.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and specifications, including API 653 and API 570.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Physical and Working Environment

This position involves both office and outdoor work, requiring physical stamina and the ability to navigate various worksite conditions. Candidates should be prepared for exposure to diverse weather conditions and the need to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
