Position Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled Fuels Superintendent to oversee and manage various aspects of our Fuels System construction initiatives. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site leadership and oversight for fuel system repair projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and maintain a comprehensive field schedule, focusing on critical path activities.
- Manage daily construction operations, including self-performance staff and subcontractors, to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
- Review contract documents for design flaws and potential code violations, communicating findings to the Project Manager.
- Assist in the preparation and management of Requests for Information (RFIs) to address site-specific challenges efficiently.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings with subcontractors to monitor progress and relay updates to the Project Manager.
- Evaluate and document subcontractor daily reports, ensuring accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Maintain effective communication with Project Managers, Quality Control Managers, Safety Officers, and Inspectors to uphold site safety and security standards.
- Identify potential project disputes and collaborate with the Project Manager to find acceptable resolutions.
- Understand and apply the USACE 3-Phase QC inspection process to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Oversee repairs related to fuel systems, including tanks, pipelines, valves, and instrumentation.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Fuels System repair projects or API 653 Tank Repairs.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification is required.
- Experience in refinery or chemical plant environments is preferred.
- Military or commercial fuels background with at least 5 years of aviation fuel system maintenance experience.
- At least three years of experience as a Site Superintendent on DoD/Military POL facilities.
- Certification in USACE Construction Quality Control Management and familiarity with 3-Phase QC inspection methods.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and specifications, including API 653 and API 570.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite applications.
- Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
This role involves a combination of office and outdoor work, requiring physical stamina and the ability to navigate various work environments. The position may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
