Role Responsibilities
The Student Success Navigator will act as a primary resource for students, providing tailored support and advocacy throughout their college experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Offering personalized advice and coaching on course selection, academic skill enhancement, and professional development in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
- Championing student interests by connecting them with vital resources that promote academic achievement and overall well-being.
- Implementing evidence-based strategies to foster student success and retention.
- Participating in recruitment and retention initiatives to enhance student engagement within the School.
- Overseeing specific projects aimed at improving student outcomes, which may involve organizing workshops, coordinating recruitment events, or teaching foundational courses.
Applicants should possess:
- A Master's degree from an accredited institution, ideally in a relevant field such as health and human sciences or counseling.
- Experience working with undergraduate students in an academic setting, whether as faculty or staff.
Ideal candidates will have:
- 1-2 years of experience in student engagement and retention-focused roles.
- A commitment to fostering a diverse learning environment.
- Familiarity with university policies, undergraduate curricula, and effective retention strategies.
- Proficiency in using educational technology tools to support student advising and mentoring.
- Experience in classroom instruction with a track record of success.
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a permanent, full-time position within the university's administrative staff.
