Position Overview

As a Field Service Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing on-site support for a range of networked digital imaging products, including copiers, printers, facsimile machines, scanners, multifunction devices, and wide format printers. Operating within a designated service area, you will be assigned various tasks based on your qualifications and expertise. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the skills necessary for mechanical and electrical repairs, as well as preventative maintenance on all serviced products.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED/Secondary School GCSE). A valid driver's license is required, free from restrictions related to DWI/DUI convictions, along with a satisfactory driving record as assessed by the company's insurance provider. Basic computer skills and strong customer service abilities are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have an associate's degree in a technical discipline or relevant military experience. Previous field service experience and knowledge of networking, along with COMPTIA A+ and Net+ certifications, are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive maintenance on assigned products, including technical diagnostics, software updates, installations, removals, retrofits, and client support.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair or replacement of equipment components as necessary.
  • Manage service calls and complete administrative tasks related to call closure.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective management of client relationships and collaboration with other team members as needed.
  • Follow proper escalation procedures to resolve client issues efficiently.
  • Provide training to clients on the use of assigned products in accordance with established field procedures.
  • Maintain responsibility for company assets, including parts, tools, communication devices, and vehicles.
  • Actively participate in team activities and adhere to established practices and procedures.
  • Drive a motor vehicle as part of job responsibilities.
  • Meet expected productivity levels based on assigned workload and experience.
  • Manage territory, inventory, and customer relationships effectively.
  • Exhibit strong technical skills and customer relations capabilities.
  • Perform basic network installations, configure IP addresses, download printer drivers, and provide client training on networked devices.
  • Demonstrate the necessary digital competencies associated with assigned products and roles.
  • Complete technical training on new equipment as required.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to identify equipment leads and upgrade opportunities.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of parts.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Engage with external customers to assess service needs and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Foster productive and professional relationships with all company personnel.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute as a team member.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
