Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at Iowa City Rehab and Healthcare Center. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance department and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance staff to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance of our facilities
  • Develop and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, HVAC maintenance, and electrical work
  • Coordinate and oversee equipment repairs and preventive maintenance schedules
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and address issues promptly
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to facility maintenance
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet the needs of residents and staff

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or education preferred
  • Prior maintenance experience in a long-term care facility or similar healthcare setting preferred
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and maintenance software
