Job Summary

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Learning Lead Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our Child Development Center, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing engaging and educational activities for infants and toddlers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead daily lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
  • Organize and participate in games and activities that foster a love of learning and exploration
  • Provide weekly lesson plans to parents, keeping them informed of their child's progress and activities
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, arrival, and departure times, as well as supervise children at all times
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss individual child progress and address any concerns
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, maintaining a clean and organized classroom

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Infant/Toddler CDA preferred
  • 6-12 months of childcare experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with software applications
