Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care while considering the specific needs related to the patient's age and condition
  • Administer morning care, which may involve bed baths, showers, oral hygiene, grooming, and general room upkeep
  • Provide evening care including personal hygiene, back rubs, and room organization
  • Assist patients during meal times, including serving and clearing food trays
  • Respond to patient call lights, anticipate needs, and conduct rounds for assigned patients
  • Help patients manage personal belongings such as dentures, glasses, and hearing aids
  • Document and report any observed changes in patient condition or behavior
  • Support licensed nursing staff with treatment procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • CPR/BCLS Certification required
  • Preferred minimum of six months experience in an acute or long-term care setting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills along with excellent interpersonal abilities

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital – Springfield specializes in providing inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from various conditions, including strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic injuries. Our facility is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for inpatient rehabilitation.
