Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care while considering the specific needs associated with the patient's age and condition
  • Administer morning care, which may involve bed baths, showers, oral hygiene, hair grooming, back care, changing linens, and maintaining cleanliness of the patient’s environment
  • Provide evening care, including washing hands and face, oral hygiene, back rubs, personal care, refreshing linens, and general upkeep of the patient’s area
  • Prepare patients for meals; serve and clear food trays, and assist patients with eating as needed
  • Respond to patient call lights, anticipate needs, and conduct rounds to assigned patients
  • Assist patients with personal items such as dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, and prosthetic devices
  • Report and document any observed changes in patient condition or behavior, as well as any unusual incidents
  • Support licensed nursing staff with treatment procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • CPR/BCLS Certification required
  • Preferred minimum of six months experience in an acute or long-term care facility
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital – Springfield provides inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and various other conditions. Our facility is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for inpatient rehabilitation.
