Position Overview:
BHI Energy is seeking a skilled Metrology Specialist to join our team, focusing on precision measurement and quality assurance within the nuclear sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) with a strong understanding of metrology principles.
- Support Metrology Designers by acquiring field data and assisting in various measurement tasks.
- Develop expertise in specific CMM tools and learn to create 3D models from point cloud data.
- Assist in estimating project requirements based on CMM tool specifications.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of experience operating CMM equipment, preferably in a nuclear environment.
- Experience supporting a metrology team is essential.
- A relevant college degree may substitute for experience.
- Entry-level candidates with a 4-year degree in a non-STEM field or a 2-year degree in engineering or design are encouraged to apply.
Competencies:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in mathematics and mechanical knowledge.
Work Environment:
The role involves a mix of office and industrial settings, requiring the use of personal protective equipment and the ability to navigate various environments.
