Job Summary

Prisma Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures that require a high degree of independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of radionuclides for the diagnosis and therapy of disease in humans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and prepare patients for procedures, ensuring proper care and safety.
  • Verify patient identification and review orders for procedures to be performed.
  • Operate auxiliary equipment necessary for procedures, maintaining and calibrating instruments as required.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, preparing them for procedures and administering medications as directed.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, following proper protocols and procedures.
  • Perform imaging, non-imaging, and function studies, as well as therapeutic exams, according to established departmental protocols.
  • Ensure patient security during movement and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Follow proper procedures for receipt and return of radioactive materials, implementing ALARA measures to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Accurately record and maintain patient data, including doses distributed and radiopharmacy information.
  • Properly dispose of and store radioactive materials and waste, adhering to regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT (N) or NMTCB registry)
  • 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in database management
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of radiation safety equipment and principles
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow proper protocols and procedures
